Coronavirus, contagion psychosis in Torre del Greco and the principal closes the school for sanitization today. Meanwhile, the mayor announces the positivity of six other fellow citizens.
Psychosis contagions, principal forced to close the school. It happened in Torre del Greco where the headmaster of the Eugenio Pantaleo higher education institute was forced to arrange for the closure of the two locations, the central one in via Cimaglia and the branch in dia De Gasperi, for today. The decision, taken yesterday evening, as the headmaster Giuseppe Mingione writes in a communication addressed to teachers, staff, parents and students, arises from the desire to "prevent the spread of unfounded alarmism regarding presumed infections deriving from Covid-19".
For this reason, "all activities will be suspended for October 12, 2020 in order to proceed with the sanitization of all school environments in both locations". "Administrative activities will resume - explains the principal of the Pantaleo institute - at 9 am on Tuesday, October 13, while teaching activities will be postponed by one hour with the start of lessons, with staggered entrances, starting at 9 am and ending at 13 pm. During the suspension of in-person activities, students will connect online with the teachers of their class to carry out lessons in integrated digital teaching".
Meanwhile, there is a new peak in Covid-19 infections. Yesterday alone, in fact, there were six new cases of positive swab tests, which are added to the previous 39 confirmed in recent weeks, seven of which were recorded on Saturday alone. This was communicated in a note by the mayor of the Vesuvian city, Giovanni Palomba, who, after having listened to the health officials of the ASL Napoli 3 Sud and the regional crisis unit, released the numbers in the possession of the Municipal Operations Center, emphasizing that the six new infections are all currently in home isolation. Of the 45 citizens of Torre del Greco who are still positive for Covid-19 to date, the mayor also informs, only two are hospitalized.
