Covid: pub closed in Portici. The mayor bursts into the 'movida' areas.
In Portici, checks and awareness campaigns for young people. A pub-brewery closed for five days for failure to respect the social distancing required by the anti-covid regulations: it happened yesterday evening in Portici, in the province of Naples, as part of targeted checks in nightlife areas frequented by very young people. The activity, which took place until late at night, involved the Municipal Police and Carabinieri of the local station, as well as the mayor Vincenzo Cuomo and the councilor for Security of the Municipality of Portici, Maurizio Capozzo.
The first part of the evening was dedicated to an awareness campaign: the mayor stopped to chat in the square with groups of young people outside the premises, emphasizing the obligation to use a mask and maintain social distancing, useful for preventing contagion. Immediately after, the checks were concentrated in Piazza Poli, Piazzale De Lauzieres, in the Granatello area and Corso Garibaldi where the Municipal Police ordered the closure of the pub for five days, noting the failure to respect the safety distance. The Carabinieri contested the failure to use a mask to five people during the checks in Granatello, Piazza Poli and Piazza San Ciro, and to two others in the nightlife area in nearby San Giorgio a Cremano. Hundreds of people and dozens of commercial activities were checked.
