Covid, new Dpcm coming: max 30 people at parties and nightlife stop. Coronavirus infections in Italy continue to rise, along with the wait for the meeting - urgently called for tomorrow - of the Technical Scientific Committee (CTS) with the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza.
At stake are the new measures of the Prime Ministerial Decree (DPCM), which will be approved in a few days. And, apart from (for now) the total lockdown, no measure is ruled out a priori, given the worsening situation. From the curfew for venues starting at 23 pm to the ban on the sale of alcohol after a certain hour, to the off-limits parking standing outside them; from the extension of smart working to the reduction of the percentage of passengers on public transport, to the stop to travel between regions, everything is theoretically possible. 'Tightening' on private parties and gatherings, which would be the primary source of new Covid 19 infections, with a maximum limit of thirty participants imposed on weddings, baptisms, communions and confirmations. And a stop to the 'movida', with the ban on gatherings in front of bars from 21 pm and the closure of clubs and restaurants brought forward to midnight. The government is working on a new Dpcm for measures to combat the pandemic, after three days ago the Council of Ministers immediately made it mandatory to wear masks even outdoors, if you are close to people you do not live with.
The measure must be adopted by October 15, to confirm, and update, the rules in force. But Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte is aiming to close as early as Monday, according to majority sources. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister spoke about it for over three hours with the heads of delegation of the majority parties and ministers Francesco Boccia and Roberto Speranza. And an urgent meeting of the Technical Scientific Committee, which Speranza should also attend, has been called for tomorrow. A discussion will also have to be held with the regional presidents. The government is also considering the possibility of a strong recommendation that masks be worn even at home if there are non-cohabitants present, in addition to the ban on private parties and confirmation of the limitation of attendance at conferences and indoor public events (maximum one thousand people outdoors if conditions allow).
An exemption from these limitations could be possible for some theaters, such as La Scala in Milan and the San Carlo in Naples, with a percentage of capacity compared to the number already indicated of a maximum of 200 spectators. Amateur contact sports are prohibited. The government's goal is to avoid a return to the acute phase of the pandemic and a new lockdown, but if necessary, more restrictive measures than the current ones could be adopted. There are three scenarios, according to what emerges from the various hypotheses, depending on the manageability of the spread of the virus. Therefore, this is the first scenario: the strengthening of social distancing with local 'red zones', smart working and closures of schools depending on the number of infections recorded. A 'tightening' accompanied by a reduction in the opening hours of clubs, bars and restaurants, and the ways of attending them. The hypothesis of a ban on travel between regions and a reduction in the number of hours of in-person school lessons has not yet been completely ruled out. A series of restrictions that should once again involve the maximum number of guests at ceremonies such as weddings, but also at simple dinners in private homes.
