De Luca: 'No lockdown? Just respect the rules. Don't besiege the Local Health Authorities without a swab prescription'.
“We are thinking about being rigorous in our behavior. The things we have decided are extremely balanced. We had a problem regarding nightlife, we recorded irresponsible behavior, hundreds of kids crowding together. Things we could not tolerate, if we want to contain the contagion. This weekend will be a test of the responsibility that all our fellow citizens have, and young people in particular”. This is how the president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca commented on the announced hypothesis of a possible new lockdown.
De Luca, in Salerno, explained that "if we want to avoid new closures, the recipe is simple, respect the rules. For the rest, we are committed to guaranteeing beds for any infected people, to multiply the number of swabs. Looking at national television and newspapers, there is a campaign of media aggression against Campania. It is as if they wanted to justify the disasters in other parts of Italy with what is the increase in contagion in Campania. Let's not think about these stupidities and let's think about respecting the rules. Our goal is to guarantee the safety of our fellow citizens".
“The mechanism for swabs is simple. When you go home, the ASL follows you in your home isolation. All citizens are able to do home isolation by themselves, take their temperature and communicate it to the family doctor. It is not complicated”. Vincenzo De Luca explained again, on the sidelines of the “Salerno Boat Show. “What you cannot do – the governor reiterated – is to be in home isolation and after two days go out on the street. This has also happened. Or giving yourself an alibi and saying “they won’t do swabs on me”.
“We are trying and we will be ready next week to do the swabs really quickly and give the results very quickly. But, we must avoid what happened in Naples – he adds – If hundreds of people show up one morning in front of an ASL and demand to do the swab immediately, they are only causing a nuisance. And they are committing incorrect acts. Because the prescription for the swab must be done by the family doctor who enters you in the regional platform. So, you register and in maximum 24 hours you do the swab. But, if everyone goes freewheeling, it is obvious that the ASL programming will be skipped. The ASL today have these priorities: schools and retirement homes. So, they must not be distracted by this program. Then, we will reach all citizens. All it takes is a minimum sense of responsibility and we will have no problems”.
