In a note, the Smi of the ASL Napoli 1 center with the trade unionists Ernesto Esposito and Antonio Scalzullo highlight the high risk of contagion in the waiting rooms of general practitioners' offices.
The latest serious episode, add the Smi unionists, occurred the day before yesterday with the blocking of the SOGEI dematerialized prescription computer system, in fact many patients unable to receive prescriptions electronically crowded the offices and in some cases causing real gatherings to receive a red paper prescription as a replacement.
Many colleagues in Naples have already tested positive for the swab and some are also hospitalized and it will therefore be increasingly difficult to find replacements with the risk of leaving thousands of citizens without assistance. It is necessary to regulate access to waiting rooms with legislative provisions since in some neighborhoods of the city it has become difficult to manage appointment-based studies.
We urge the Campania Region to stabilize general practitioners to allow continuity of care throughout the region.
It is necessary, conclude Esposito and Scalzullo, to provide general practitioners and emergency medical services with personal protective equipment before the contagion spreads throughout the entire category.
