“The patient who died yesterday at Cotugno was in yellow code with 95% saturation and was stable the entire time in the ambulance. It took us about an hour to find him a place due to some difficulties that are currently occurring with the places in the hospital. When we delivered him he was stable then he had a worsening that happens with covid in people of a certain age”.
This is how Giuseppe Galano, regional manager of 118, explains the process of the man who died last night at the Cotugno hospital in Naples. The family reported serious delays in the matter. The patient "was treated with all the standards of 11 - explains Galano - as emerges from the reports I received. He was never a red code and had a privately done covid test so it was still unclear whether he was positive or not, for this reason the first destination was the Pellegrini hospital, and not a covid center, because there they could cover both the suspected covid and the confirmed one. Then the Pellegrini received other ambulances and the hospital beds were saturated.

Unfortunately, Covid can change at any moment, especially in people of a certain age”.
