Movida closed in Caserta: over 300 people identified, fines and closures for 14 bars.
Caserta. The Police Forces carried out an inter-force control service in the city centre of Caserta, Aversa (9 October) and Santa Maria Capua Vetere on the evenings of Friday 9 October and yesterday Saturday, until the early hours of the following morning, aimed at countering the commission of crimes and illegal conduct in relation to the phenomenon of the weekend "movida", as well as ensuring unconditional compliance with the provisions established to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Five bars were fined by the Carabinieri in the municipality of Parete for violating the anti-Covid regulations regarding opening and closing times. The fines imposed were 400 euros. In particular, the military of the local station, checking the public places, discovered that five bars had delayed closing or opened early compared to what was established in the ordinance of the Campania Region. All the businesses now risk closing for 5 to 30 days. The Carabinieri, in fact, have forwarded, as required by law, a simultaneous proposal to the Prefect of Caserta.
The activity follows similar services carried out over the past weekends, as ordered by the Police Chief of Caserta following the assessments expressed by the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety.
The control device, coordinated by a State Police Officer, involved personnel from the State Police, the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza and the Municipal Police, operating in their respective territories of competence. The preventive function ensured by the uniformed crews of the Police Forces was combined with the repressive activity carried out by the personnel of the Police Forces in civilian clothes, hidden among the customers.
The service first of all demonstrated the general respect for the measures of social distancing and use of the mask. During the aforementioned services, 3 sanctions were issued pursuant to art. 4 DPCM 19/2020.
Over 300 people were identified, 65 vehicles were checked and 33 violations of the highway code were reported, including 1 seizure for driving without a license and two administrative detentions.
Four people were also identified and fined for carrying out illegal parking activities, with the consequent seizure of the sums illegally received.
During the specific activity, 25 public establishments were checked, of which 4 were sanctioned with prescriptions and warnings to the ASL, 2 sanctioned for non-compliant staff and 3 administrative sanctions. The commercial establishments in the Movida area closed regularly at the times established by current legislation and regional ordinances.
