Victor Osimhen, the young Napoli striker who has already become an idol for the fans, talks about himself in a six-minute interview on the club's Twitter profile.
"I was born and raised in Lagos, my mother passed away when I was little, three months later my father lost his job: it was a very difficult time for me and my brothers and sisters, I had to sell water in the streets to survive. I do all this because I believe that football is the only hope for me and my family, to be able to live a dignified life. I am happy with where I am now, I have learned not to get down and to believe in myself".
And then he explains his dream: “I grew up watching Drogba play, he was an example for me. Being in Naples is a dream come true. If someone had told me three years ago that I would play in one of the most important teams in the world I wouldn't have believed it. And now my dream is to win the award for best African footballer of the year. Football is the only thing I have in my head, I want to focus on this and on Naples. There are many expectations on me and I will do everything to live up to them. Even before signing with Naples it was as if I was already part of the team. Many fans wrote to me, they talked to me about the city. Naples is their life. I think I can give back and give them what they want, to be loved even more”.
