Fairy tales return to the Teatro Delle Arti, branded Compagnia dell'Arte.
Aladdin, The Magical Story of Pizza, Jesper the Postman of Santa Claus, Anastasia between history and legend, Aurora: Sleeping Beauty, The Prince of Egypt, are the six titles of "Once Upon a Time 9"
It starts on Sunday 18 October: always three performances at 11, 17 and 19.15
"We took advantage of this forced break to think and create: we are waiting for you at our home, we can't wait," says director Antonello Ronga.
Believing in dreams before and after the pandemic. Covid forced them to stay at home but it didn't stop their energy and enthusiasm: the Compagnia dell'Arte team is ready to return to the stage to sing, act and dance in front of young and old.
"We will start again stronger than before - said the director and artistic director Antonello Ronga during the presentation press conference at the Municipality of Salerno - we have taken advantage of this forced break to think and create: we are waiting for you at home and we can't wait. It is true that we have experienced a dramatic moment. Last year there were 800, this year there are 200 subscribers to C'era una Volta. But we cannot stop, we are close to the milestone of 10 seasons of fairy tales. We say no to a further downsizing and we rely on the data from Agis which recently gave us wonderful news, for all of us. Out of 347.262 spectators in 2.782 monitored shows including opera, prose, dance and concerts, with an average of 130 presences for each event, in the period from June 15 (the day of reopening after the lockdown) to the beginning of October, only one case of Covid 19 contagion was recorded based on the reports received from the local ASL. A percentage, this, equal to zero and absolutely irrelevant, which testifies to how the places that continue to host the show are absolutely safe".
Six titles will make up the ninth edition of C'era Una Volta, the Sunday family show scheduled once a month at the Teatro delle Arti in Salerno.
It starts on Sunday 18th with Aladdin (three performances at 11, 17 and 19.15) and then continues with The Magical Story of Pizza (November 15th) Jesper the Postman of Santa Klaus (December 20th) Anastasia between history and legend, Aurora: Sleeping Beauty, The Prince of Egypt. The dates of these last three shows will be announced later.
"I will also be at the theater with my children next Sunday - said the Councilor for Commerce Dario Loffredo - in the hope of confirming the spread of a very important message for the entire community of Salerno. We must learn to live with the virus, which does not mean not living. I say this as a father, as a Salerno citizen, as a councilor. Let's live responsibly: I hope that fairy tales are one of the many small steps that will lead us towards a Christmas of hope, without Luci d'Artista but with small illuminations in a minor tone in the main axes of the city".
With open arms (but in great safety) the beating heart of the Compagnia dell'Arte composed of Federica Buonomo, Mauro Collina, Martina Iacovazzo and Valentina Tortora is ready to welcome young and old. With precise shifts, social distancing, body temperature measurement, actors, singers and dancers will go on stage in full compliance with the anti-covid rules, implementing the same also and above all for those who will sit in the stalls.
Next Sunday is a particularly important date. The re-start of C'era una Volta also marks the restart of the Teatro delle Arti which, still on stand-by with its theatrical season and the one branded Che Comico, returns to raise the curtain placing its hopes in the audience of the little ones and families.
"Culture cannot be stopped," added Councilor Tonia Willburger, "I am very happy with this morning's meeting announcing the restart of this season that excites young and old. Starting again with the little ones is wonderful, it gives optimism and the desire to believe that we are going in the right direction. This is why we are thinking of continuing to support art by making an arena available for the winter to those who have small theaters and do not have the possibility of doubling the new billboards."
During this long period of downtime, the embrace of the families devoted to the Compagnia dell'Arte family has been great and heartfelt. None of the subscribers have asked to be reimbursed for the share of the shows missed. With this in mind, the artistic directors, Valentina Tortora and Antonello Ronga, have decided to reward the affection shown by canceling the two dates lost in season 8 due to Covid in the subscription of the new subscription. The cost of the card to attend the six shows on the program has remained unchanged: 65 euros per person.
Subscription requests must be sent to the email address compagniadellarte@libero.it.
