Priest positive for covid and church closed to the faithful. In Ercolano, the parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Marco Ricci, announces on the Facebook page that he has tested positive following a control swab carried out "despite all the precautions always taken in church, during mass and elsewhere".
To the faithful and friends, Don Ricci explains: "I decided to take the swab as a precaution out of an excess of scruples because, given the growing number of infections, my being a pastor among the people brings me into contact with many people (just a few days ago I also took the serological test and it was negative). I want to reassure everyone: I am asymptomatic and I am fine, I will only be forced to stay home in quarantine with my mother. Therefore, while waiting to carry out further tests and to have indications from the Bishop and the ASL regarding sanitization, the church will remain closed to the public and the Holy Masses and all parish appointments will be temporarily suspended".
