Pagani. “To define a joint line of action that includes collaboration between all the competent bodies responsible for definitively resolving the problem of flooding in the city center of Pagani, in particular in via Cesarano: this is the purpose of the technical table, requested by our Administration, which took place, in streaming mode, in which representatives of Gori, the Consorzio di Bonifica Comprensorio Sarno and the Municipality of Pagani took part” represented by the councilor delegated to the prevention of hydrogeological risk Felice Califano and by the councilor Gaetano Stanzione.
"The meeting, requested by the Municipal Administration, is already in its third act, preceded by two previous meetings. The flooding of the city center is a long-standing problem, well known to citizens, whose criticality resurfaces with every weather alert - insists the municipal councilor Gaetano Stanzione - Specifically, interventions will be implemented to intercept the waters upstream that flow downstream from the towns of Sant'Egidio del Monte Albino and convey them into the Corbara torrent. Currently, these flows instead flow onto via Sorvello, and from there along via San Domenico, to then weigh down the sewer system of via Cesarano with the unfortunately known consequences. In the meantime, Gori is continuing the project line, started by previous administrations with works already financed, for the construction of the drainage network along via Leopardi, a work that will allow, on the one hand, to complete the municipal urban sewer network and on the other to further lighten the sewer network of the city center with expected benefits also in the area of the Rodari elementary school. Despite the Covid emergency, the administration continues its activities to improve the quality of life of citizens”.
And Stanzione concludes: “We welcome Gori's initiative to suspend water supply interruptions due to non-payment, to support citizens in difficulty in this difficult historical moment, exacerbated by the socio-economic emergency resulting from the health one”.
