The misadventure involving a woman from the province of Benevento and her 10-year-old son ended with a scare. Yesterday evening, after exploring several paths, they lost their bearings in the woods of the Partenio Mountains.
Frightened by the approaching darkness, at the end of their strength they decided to call 112 for help, providing their coordinates to the operators at the Operations Center of the Avellino Provincial Carabinieri Command via a mobile phone app. Carabinieri from the Serino Forestry Station then arrived on the scene, and, along with a Carabinieri officer from the Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo station, reached the indicated area, in the countryside of the municipality of Summonte, well known to one of the officers. The Carabinieri quickly located the two missing men in a very steep and difficult-to-reach ravine. After reaching them and verifying their physical safety, the two unfortunates, exhausted and cold, were escorted back down to the valley.
