EMA gives early green light to Pfizer-Biontech. Speranza: “A new phase begins”
The European Union has also given the green light to the Pfizer/Biontech vaccine. The EMA has granted conditional authorization to the COVID-19 vaccine. The announcement was made by Marie-Agnes Heine, director of communications for the European Medicines Agency.
The Minister of Health's immediate comment Roberto Speranza:
“The European Medicines Agency has given the OK to the Pfizer Biontech vaccine. It's the news we've been waiting for. The battle against the virus is still very complex, as demonstrated by the latest news from London, but having an effective and safe vaccine available opens a new phase and gives us more strength and confidence."

The first doses for Italy will leave Belgium on December 24 and will arrive at Spallanzani in Rome starting from the 26th for subsequent distribution throughout Italy. “Vaccine day” is scheduled for the 27th.
