A family dispute in Casola di Napoli, a small town in the Lattari Mountains, has ended in bloodshed. According to the Carabinieri, a man was stabbed to death by his brother-in-law, who was suspicious of the victim's alleged advances toward his daughter. The man killed was Salvatore Palombo, 44, a workshop manager at a car dealership. The attacker was Umberto Longobardi, 44, who was under house arrest for diesel trafficking. Both the victim and the stabber had minor drug convictions.
The fight took place in the public housing blocks on Via Vittorio Veneto, around 16:XNUMX p.m. Salvatore Palombo leaves behind a wife and three children. A third man took the injured man to the emergency room at the San Leonardo hospital in Castellammare di Stabia, where Palombo arrived lifeless, bleeding to death from the numerous cuts to his abdomen. The attacker used a kitchen knife. There are family ties between the two men, both as brothers-in-law and as cousins. Witnesses described a horrifying scene with copious trails of blood on the stairs.
The Carabinieri of the Castellammare di Stabia Company, under the command of Captain Carlo Venturini and Lieutenant Andrea Riccio, together with their colleagues from the Gragnano station, immediately reconstructed the incident and arrested the person responsible for the crime.
