Naples, 7 thousand euros collected to buy back the scooter stolen from the rider. Hunt for the bandits.
Almost 7 thousand euros were collected in just over an hour to buy back the scooter stolen from the Neapolitan rider, attacked by six thugs this evening in Calata Capodichino, a few kilometers from Secondigliano. The fundraiser was launched by private citizens on the 'Gofundme' portal. The reason for the fundraiser appears on the page: "We are doing a collection to immediately donate a new scooter to the boy brutally robbed and beaten by 6 thugs".
They pulled up alongside him, blocked him in the middle of the road, beat him and then robbed him of his moped. The victim was a 52-year-old rider. The robbers, dressed in dark clothes except for one and with their faces covered, were 5 on board 2 scooters. The passengers got off their vehicles trying to make the rider get off the saddle, beating him up because they wanted his moped. The victim, despite his courageous attempt to resist, was unable to parry the kicks and punches that were thrown in turn to his body and face.
Even though he fell to the ground screaming in fear and pain, the man tried not to leave his scooter but one of the attackers tried twice to run him over with his vehicle. In the end, the 5 ran away with their loot, leaving the rider on the ground. The scene, filmed with a cell phone, is on social media and is going around the web. The bandits were wearing anti-covid masks, helmets and their faces were covered with scarves and balaclavas. The investigations are being entrusted to the police who are trying to track them down by reading the license plate numbers of the scooters used by the young bandits.
