Nowadays, we hear more and more about digital, especially when referring to the gaming industry, specifically video games. Indeed, many Italians love playing video games online, as is the case with multiplayer games on next-generation consoles like the Xbox and PlayStation 5. Not to mention gambling, another niche that has found its new home in digital for years and continues to grow in popularity, posting record-breaking figures . In short, from consoles to gambling, enthusiasts often prefer the internet and digital. So, let's delve deeper into this topic.
Online Gaming, Entertainment Changes Shape
Let's start with gaming, a sector that's now driving the industry. The new consoles from Sony and Microsoft recently hit the market. Between the usual problems of unavailability and out-of-stocks, and stunning graphics that have already won over Italians, these consoles have already become history. Yet there are clear signs of a shift, such as the PS5 , which in its basic version no longer includes a Blu-ray drive, allowing only the download of digital copies of games. And then there are other examples, like Google's Stadia, which allows you to play online via streaming without even owning a console. Proof of this system's effectiveness came with Cyberpunk 2077, which excelled on Stadia, while it flopped on consoles. Gambling is also increasingly relying on digital. Gamblers, partly due to the closure of physical stores during the lockdown, have moved en masse to the internet. They appreciate the ability to gamble from home or anywhere else. The major platforms now make security a strong point, as explained in this review of StarCasino , for example: in this field, it's increasingly important to find valid protection protocols and certified portals. This way, players can easily navigate the various entertainment options without having to worry about anything else or their data.
Online Gaming, Safety First
As mentioned above, there is a rule that every player must follow: protect yourself from the risks brought by the Internet, which is not always a bed of roses. The first piece of advice is probably the most obvious, but also the most important: always protect yourself with a professional antivirus, thus avoiding playing online without defensive barriers. On consoles, however, you must be careful of friend requests from strangers, which could be real malware, as has already happened in the past. Furthermore, it is not advisable to let too much information about yourself slip when playing with the microphone, because someone listening could take advantage of it. As for gambling, the matter is much simpler: to be sure of playing on a safe site, just look for the certification issued by the ADM (customs and monopolies agency).
