Corruption at the ASL of Caserta: the nine investigated employees suspended
The general director of the ASL of Caserta, Ferdinando Russo, has suspended with his own provision nine employees involved in the “Penelope” investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of North Naples, which led to 22 arrests on Monday 12 February.
The investigators' target is the Department of Mental Health of the ASL, believed to be the linchpin of a corruption and rigged procurement ring revolving around the figure of the former official responsible for the DSM, Luigi Carizzone (retired for a year), who ended up under house arrest with his secretary Patrizia Rampone.
The NAS Carabinieri also arrested the ASL employees Nicola Bonacci, a psychiatrist, Francesco Della Ventura, who was in charge of contracts, Pasquale Sannino, Antonio Stabile. Among the suspects, for whom the GIP has ordered the interdiction from public office, there is also the DSM official Federico Iorizzi and other ASL employees.
