New cases of Covid-19 on the rise in Italy but percentage of positive swabs drops.
NIn the last twenty-four hours there have been 16.424 new cases of covid in Italy against 340.247 swabs carried out for a positivity rate of 4,8%. It is the highest number of daily tests ever carried out in Italy since the beginning of the pandemic. This is what emerges from the daily bulletin on covid issued by the Civil Protection and the Ministry of Health. Yesterday there were 13.314 new cases against over 303 thousand swabs for a positivity rate of 4,4%.
The death toll is 318, down from yesterday, for a total of 96.666 since the beginning of the pandemic. The currently positive cases are 389.433 with 18.217 hospitalized with symptoms (+62) and 2.157 in intensive care (+11).
The total cases since the beginning of the epidemic are 2.848.564, the deaths 96.666. The currently positive are 389.433 (+1.485 compared to yesterday), the discharged or recovered 2.362.465 (+14.599), in home isolation there are now 369.059 people (+1.552).

The Region with the most cases, which has been growing strongly for days, is Lombardy (+3.310), followed by Campania (+2.185), Piedmont (+1.453), Emilia Romagna (+1.427) and Lazio (+1.188). The total number of infections rises to 2.848.564. The number of recovered patients is increasing, 14.599 (yesterday 12.898), 2.362.465 in total. For the second day in a row, the number of currently positive cases is increasing, more substantially: +1.485 (yesterday +45), for a total of 389.433 active patients. Of these, 369.069 patients are in home isolation, 1.562 more than yesterday.
