“Professor, you are humiliating me.” “What can I say to you? You have to go and become a doctor, you are in your sixth year and you are still talking to me about cell division in the dead? Ma t'hanna arrestà” (in Neapolitan dialect, they should arrest you).
The exchange in a video conference between a professor of medicine at the 'Vanvitelli' University of Caserta and a student who was taking the exam in the Dad version, from home, has gone viral. The argument was enriched by a sequel when the girl's mother appears in the video claiming that her daughter would have been "mortified" by the professor to whom she asks for an account.
The woman, who identified herself as a doctor, blames the professor for having reprimanded her daughter too aggressively after she gave the wrong answer. The video of the argument then ended up online, without any authorization from the two parties involved, becoming viral, and causing a lot of inconvenience to the young student herself. It is still not known who published it, but the participation of other students, in addition to those taking the test, widens the pool of possible perpetrators. A note from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli intervened on the matter, explaining how "the video was sent online illegally, without any consent or authorization from the people involved".
“The images that are circulating – it is emphasized – highlight a moment of tension and misunderstanding between the student and the teacher, which was then largely overcome in the following days”. “The Rector – the press release states – immediately met with the student as soon as she requested it. “The student has represented above all the difficulty that arose from the diffusion of these images and her own personal discomfort. The Rector, in this perspective, is committed to clarifying what happened between the student and the teacher and expresses all his disappointment towards those who published the video inappropriately”.
