Workers at the FCA plant in Pomigliano d'Arco will be laid off for 14 days in March.
They will be used to allow other interventions useful for the start of production of the new Alfa Romeo Tonale model, but also to mitigate the effects of the difficulties "in supplying components". This was announced by the union representatives of Fim, Uilm, Fismic, Uglm and Aqcf, after a meeting with the company's top management of the plant.
“The company – the RSAs wrote – has communicated to us that in light of the priority need to carry out interventions for the start-up of the Alfa Romeo Tonale model in sheet metal welding and in conjunction with mitigating the effects deriving from the difficulty in supplying components, the activities will be suspended on 1, 5, 8, 9, and from 17 to 26 March inclusive”.
The suspension will result in the failure to accrue the installments, as the union delegates themselves then underlined. “In a context of severe economic crisis – they concluded – we would have hoped for the accrual of the installment for the month of March for all workers, while recognizing the importance of the work that will allow the start of the pre-series of the new model”.
