A 4-year-old, Leonardo Mansueto, was sentenced to one year and four months in prison. The preliminary hearing judge of the Benevento court, Maria Di Carlo, accepted the plea bargaining request that closed the trial for the death of Antonio Rocco Mansueto, 37, and Giuseppa Ricchiuto, 72. The road accident occurred on May 65, 19. It was the wedding day of the daughter of the couple from Montefalcone Valfortore, and the couple was in their son's Renault Clio, all headed to the restaurant in Benevento, where the reception was to be held. But the party never took place.
Along the Fortorina state road, near Pesco Sannita, the small car driven by Leonardo Mansueto collided first with a pylon and then with a van of the Civil Protection of Benevento with three volunteers on board, who were injured. The man's parents were thrown from the vehicle and died. Leonardo Mansueto was seriously injured and remained in a coma for weeks after surgery. But the investigation established that the responsibility for the incident was of the 37-year-old, who was now convicted.
