The Carabinieri of the Avellino Provincial Command intervened on the scene, and rescued a 33-year-old of Moldovan origins, who was subsequently transferred to the Burns Centre of the “Cardarelli” hospital in Naples.
Nothing could be done for the 51-year-old Romanian, homeless, found charred to death on the remains of a bed.
The fire, which according to initial findings was accidental, was put out by the Fire Department. By order of the judicial authority, the building was seized and the body was transferred to the “Moscati” morgue in Avellino.
