After a stint as a musician and singer in various Italian bands, participating in The Voice of Italy 2016 in Team Pezzali and two featurings with the famous rapper Ioria in 2020 – “Too Much” and “Sient a Me” -, Like.a.Nova, pseudonym of Noemi Castagnanova, makes her solo debut with “Ballo da sola” (Red Owl Management/Visory Records/Thaurus), her new single.
The song, written by the singer-songwriter herself last August and produced by Daniele Bleedz, captures you from the first listen, thanks to a compelling rhythm and the voice of the talented artist from Puglia. An enveloping, warm, deep voice, rich in rhythm and colors, a voice that reaches the soul from the first notes, in the low tones and that excites without reserve when it opens up, powerful but refined, in the chorus. A chorus that repeats the phrase "I never know why" several times, the fulcrum of the song, aimed at explaining how it feels when a story ends, when melancholy and memories of moments, situations and blurry details grow in us, without being aware of the real reason why this happens.
“Ballo da sola” is structured on a writing that leaves little room for the imagination and transports the listener into the tale of a love story that has come to an end, but it does so with a touch of irony and lightness, elements capable of bringing a smile to the lips.
Because from negativity we must draw strength, from difficulties opportunities, from pain desire for redemption and from love, just as it should be, a pure feeling, which gives vital energy; a feeling that we must not depend on, but rather live fully, grasping every wonderful aspect to improve ourselves, day after day. Catchy dancefloor sounds are the perfect mix between current and retro, between hope and nostalgia: a pressing, fresh beat, born from the synergy of pop and R'n'B, with strong Dance influences, which winks at the famous Studio 54 in New York, while remaining ultra-modern and faithful to the productions of the second decade of the 21st century.
"I dance alone" - she declares Like.a.Nova – was born in August 2020 from an idea by producer Daniele Bleedz, a professional I respect a lot. When he sent me a draft of the sound, I already had a clear idea of the finished melody and the words practically materialized on paper, without giving me time to think about it. This song talks about me and lays me completely bare, stripping me of a status that doesn't belong to me and repairing me from my fragilities».

The single is accompanied by the official video clip, directed by Domenico Apruzzo, which will be released in the next few weeks: in the month of February, which more than any other celebrates lovers, a gift of love to all the people looking for love, those who still do not know how much this magical feeling must first of all be sought and found within themselves and to those who, with their heads held high, are happy to shout to the world "I'm not looking for you, which is perhaps better, I'm dancing alone, this time for me".
Like.a.Nova, pseudonym of Noemi Castagnanova, is a singer-songwriter and musician from Brindisi, born in 1993, with a soulful soul. Daughter of two former DJs, she approached music as a child and thanks to her warm and enveloping timbre, which makes her immediately recognizable, combined with a scratchy imprint and a unique and original approach to composing lyrics, in 2016 she won a place in the team - and in the heart - of Max Pezzali, becoming a contestant in the third edition of The Voice of Italy. Her participation in the Rai program brought her to the forefront, making her, day after day, a very pleasant example of young Apulian reality. A determined and resolute girl who, through effort, talent and dedication, managed to get noticed and appreciated right away at a national level, both by the public and by industry insiders.
