An inexplicable gesture. The death by suicide of entrepreneur Andrea Baldi has left everyone shocked.
His Facebook wall is flooded with comments of memories. The former manager of Frattese football club and entrepreneur in the optical sector had turned 49 last Sunday. Investigators are convinced that it was suicide because from viewing the video surveillance images of the area the presumed dynamics of the facts and his movements yesterday morning shortly before his death have been reconstructed.
Baldi had a back problem that forced him to use crutches in recent times. And this was making him nervous and especially depressed.

Thanks to the images it was possible to reconstruct that shortly after six yesterday morning, he had stopped inside the bar located inside the petrol station near the 'Le Porte di Napoli' shopping centre in Afragola, in whose parking lot he was found lifeless shortly after. He drank a coffee and then bought some petrol which he put in a bottle. He got back into his Jeep Renegade and headed towards the shopping centre parking lot. He covered himself in petrol and set himself on fire. He died within minutes.
The lack of oxygen inside the passenger compartment did not allow the flames to develop further and they went out automatically. The rest is history: the alarm, the arrival of the police and the investigations. Now the autopsy ordered by the Prosecutor's Office of Naples North will establish whether Andrea Baldi had taken medicines that would have stunned him because such a cruel act of self-harm appears unjustifiable.
