Massa Lubrense, Covid does not stop Environmental Education. Activities will continue in DaD.
Ecolubrafriendly, a project coordinated by the Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area, will resume in March. The President of the MPA, Cacace: “It is important to continue to form the environmental awareness of future generations”.
Covid does not stop the Environmental Education activities in the Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area. The Ecolubrafriendly project will continue in DAD, addressing three ever-present and fundamental themes for the future of the planet: Water, Earth, Sustainability with the 2030 Agenda.
The project is coordinated by the Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area and sees the participation of the Municipality of Massa Lubrense, Terra delle Sirene, Gori and Coldiretti. The third and fourth grade classes and the first grade of the Pulcarelli Pastena Comprehensive Institute will be involved, with the coordination of Professor Patrizia Verde.
The lessons will be held in DAD and will be developed through interactive proposals in order to stimulate the participation of the children. The educational path is designed with a series of "pills", Learning Pills, and meetings with experts, such as Antonino Di Palma of Terra delle Sirene, Franscesco De Simone of Gori and Anthony Pollio of Coldiretti.
“I am deeply convinced of the value of education which, through training, information and interaction with the different objects of study, defines the culture and conscience of the men of tomorrow - underlines Lucio Cacace, President of the Punta Campanella MPA - Environmental education must be one of the cornerstones in the growth process of young people and it is important not to stop even if there is the Covid problem.”
The topics covered are all very current and important.
The first module concerns water, a strategic topic for the education of citizens: source of life, problems of access, the consequences of a lack of attention (pollution, waste, purification) and the related risks (floods, soil erosion).
The earth represents the second module of the project. Natural environments such as forests, woodlands, grasslands and many others are essential for life. They host animals and plants that are the result of thousands of years of evolution and constitute an irreplaceable source of resources for man. Maintaining healthy and balanced natural systems is essential for life on the planet.
Education is instead the top priority of UNESCO as a fundamental human right and because it is the basis on which to build peace and initiate sustainable development. The Agenda 2030, which will be discussed in the third module, sets 17 goals to be achieved in the next decade, including that of providing quality, equitable and inclusive education.
The final goal of Ecolubrafriendly is to make young people aware of the territory in which they live, from the school environment to the city and the entire world, grasping and synthesizing the best connections between man, environment, resources and pollution.
