The lifeless body of Antonio Catricalà, former undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council and former Antitrust Authority, was found on the balcony of his apartment in via Antonio Bertoloni, in the Parioli district.
On site the Police and the forensic agents engaged in the surveys to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the event. According to the first information Catricalà committed suicide by shooting himself.
Catricala' was 69 years old, had been chairman of the board of directors of the Aeroporti di Roma company since 2017 and in recent days had been appointed chairman of the Igi, the Institute of Large Infrastructures. From 2005 to 2011, he had been chairman of the Competition and Market Authority. Then he had been undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council of the Monti government from November 2011 and vice-minister of Development in Enrico Letta's government in 2013. A magistrate of the Council of State since 2014, he then practiced the profession of lawyer. In September 2014 he was nominated by the center-right to be a judge of the Constitutional Court.
