Naples. Two fights between two baby gangs, one from Secondigliano and the other from Pallonetto di Santa Lucia.
And it was in this scenario that a 16-year-old boy was injured, stabbed in the left hand while trying to parry the blows of his opponent, also a minor. The early afternoon of Carnival on the Naples seafront was about to turn into a tragedy, in front of hundreds of people crowding the seaside promenade, including many families with children in costume.
It all started in front of Castel dell'Ovo. A group from Santa Lucia clashed with another group from Secondigliano. A glance too often sparked first harsh words, despite the young age of the participants, then threats and physical violence in a very short time. A brawl that also involved several young women. Then they fled. Through the crowd. The second part of the fight ended in front of restaurants, specifically in front of the "I Re di Napoli" bar.

The two groups clashed again, and one of them, a 16-year-old, was injured by a peer who attempted to stab him, but fortunately missed. Some of those involved entered the restaurant, where customers fled and some furnishings were destroyed. The police then intervened, but the groups continued their physical confrontation. Some of them even attempted to attack the ambulance called to assist the injured boy. This attempt was prevented, thanks to the police.
The number of youths involved is currently unknown, but investigators from the Police Headquarters' Flying Squad are interviewing witnesses and the perpetrators of the clashes to determine the circumstances of the incident and who is responsible. Furthermore, the two brawls reportedly broke out so quickly after each other that they appear to have been a single incident. It is not excluded that charges may be filed in the coming hours. At this time, according to what has been learned, no property damage has been reported.
