Naples. This morning the doors of the Nisida juvenile prison were opened for Manuel P. (defended by the lawyer Giuseppe Milazzo) and Gennaro M. (defended by the lawyers Leopoldo Perone and Fabio Quintaluce).

These are two of the three seventeen-year-olds from Barra who on October 5, 2019, on Via Alessandro Manzoni in San Giorgio a Cremano, fired three gunshots at some of their peers from San Giovanni a Teduccio, to avenge having been attacked with kicks and punches shortly before.
The two boys, now free, together with a third who remains behind bars, were arrested on January 30 by the Flying Squad of the Naples Police Headquarters, in execution of a precautionary measure issued by the investigating judge of the Juvenile Court of Naples.

The three were charged with the attempted murder of Ciro A., who, upon the arrival of the 'fiery' triad, hid behind a car, but in order to hit him, the boy sitting in the middle fired three shots with a 9mm caliber pistol, which pierced the shutters of the balcony immediately above the 'Ciao pizza' restaurant, the windshield and the fuel tank of two cars not far away.
In fact, the charges also included the crime of damage and possession of the weapon. Furthermore, according to the arrest judge, the facts were aggravated by mafia-related elements, on the assumption that the two groups were linked to the criminal underworld of their own neighborhoods, also considering their respective kinship with the Mazzarella and Aprea clans.

The Public Prosecutor was also present in the courtroom last Monday, who persisted in believing that it was not possible that such young boys could have access to a gun so quickly, yet the Court of Liberty of Colli Aminei shared the arguments of the defense of Manuel P. and Gennaro P., annulling the order that kept them locked up, because the evidence collected by the Police Station of San Giorgio a Cremano and the Tenenza of Cercola proved to be far too weak. Ballistics reports, telephone interceptions, video surveillance cameras and confidential sources were not enough.
