With a call for tenders signed by the mayor Enzo Guida and the president of the confiscated property council commission Francesco Maria Turco, the social gardens at the confiscated property in via Rosa Parks in Cesa were reopened for the assignment.
After the previous assignment of 9 lots, 11 more remain to be assigned. Participation in the tender is reserved for adult residents and local associations.
Social gardens are plots of land, generally small in size, located in the city and assigned to people in difficult conditions, or to the elderly, the disabled or simply to the community. The purpose of the project is to allow the assignee to produce vegetables on their own, not intended for sale or in any case without profit. An initiative aimed at promoting social integration.
The application must be submitted to the Cesa Municipality's protocol office, until the lots to be assigned are exhausted. The vegetable gardens must be cared for and cultivated exclusively by the assignees, who may avail themselves of the help of family members, but not of paid labor. In the case of assignment of the lot to a local association, the legal representative must communicate, in writing, the names of the individuals, regularly registered with the association, who will collaborate in the cultivation of the assigned lot. The concession of the plot of land will last one year.
