San Giorgio, the location for vaccine administration has been found. It will be the Multifunctional Center
IThe Multifunctional Center in via Mazzini is the location chosen for the administration of anti-Covid vaccines in San Giorgio a Cremano. Mayor Giorgio Zinno received positive feedback on Wednesday evening from the administrative director of Asl Na 3 Sud, Dr. Gennaro Sosto. Dr. Teresa Stocchetti will be in charge of the organization of the center.
Within the next week, the ASL will provide it with the necessary equipment according to the health and logistical needs and then the vaccination campaign will begin in compliance with the calendar established by the Campania Region. The timing of action and the decision on the age groups, in fact, always remain the responsibility of the Region and the ASL, but the citizens of San Giorgio will be among the first to take advantage of this opportunity.
“Already at the beginning of the year I asked the ASL Napoli 3 Sud to bring a vaccination center to the city too – explains Mayor Giorgio Zinno – and precisely to the Multifunctional Center in via Mazzini to make access to the vaccine easier and faster for our fellow citizens”.
After several inspections carried out always in the presence of the Mayor and technicians, the ASL considered that the Multifunctional Center was suitable, both from a logistical point of view and for the spaces available, equal to approximately 600 square meters, or the entire lower floor that will be used for this purpose, except for an area that will remain in use by the local Red Cross. Small adaptation interventions have already been started in relation to the setting up of systems necessary to accommodate the refrigerators with the vaccine doses that will be brought on site every day.
Furthermore, thanks to the agreement between the ASL and the Association of General Practitioners, of which Dr. Ciro Cozzolino is a signatory and Dr. Sergio De Angelis is the territorial representative, the center will be attended by general practitioners, whose work is essential for the success of vaccination activities.
Just as, in the perspective of collaboration and cohesion between ASL and Administration, in the fight against the virus, Zinno has made available to doctors, also the Civil Protection volunteers who will offer support, as is already happening at the drive-in in via Marconi and the Municipal Police.
“It is a great satisfaction to be able to communicate to my fellow citizens that the vaccination campaign is about to begin in our city,” concludes Zinno. “This place will be the reference for our entire population and from today it will be the symbol of hope in the fight against this damned virus.
