The Court of Appeal of Naples has deemed all seizures carried out by the Guardia di Finanza at the Pegaso telematic university to be illegitimate.
LThe twelfth section of the Court of Appeal of Naples has deemed all the seizures carried out by the Guardia di Finanza on the orders of the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office as illegitimate due to lack of 'fumus' in the investigation into the top management of the Pegaso online university, for which the investigators hypothesize the crime of corruption.
This is an investigative line by prosecutor Henry John Woodcock aimed at shedding light on the process of a particular amendment to the 2020 Budget Law and the transformation of the university from a foundation to a joint-stock company. The judges of the Court of Liberty accepted the appeals of the lawyers of the recipients of the seizure decrees. Computers, cell phones and documentation were returned.
The recipients of the search and seizure orders include the president of Pegaso University, Danilo Iervolino, the general director of the University, Elio Pariota, the head of the marketing office Maria Rosaria Andria, the vice prefect Biagio Del Prete who at the time of the events was head of the secretariat of the Miur and Francesco Fimmano', Armando Di Prisco and Elio Pariota, tax consultants.
