Celebrations via social media, due to Covid, which did not prevent the creation of a documentary video entitled “Nave Vespucci, 90 years today” to celebrate the important anniversary for the most beautiful ship in the world, a symbol of stability in the world, with the invitation to all citizens to view it, on February 22, on the Libero Ricercatore accounts to blow out together the 90 candles of the sailing ship launched in 1931.
The documentary video will deal with the birth of the project of the training ship for the Naval Academy of Livorno, the history of the shipyard and the little-known technical characteristics of the Vespucci, the navigation of the Vespucci in the days of the armistice of 8 September 1943 from the diaries of one of the witnesses of those tragic days of the Second World War.
