Now in its third edition, Animation Camera Week, the Italian animated film festival promoted by the Camera Film association of Pomigliano d'Arco and created within the National Cinema Plan for Schools of Miur and Mibact, does not give up sharing events with its audiences inside and outside the school and rethinks its online appointments.
With the "Cultura a KM 0" formula, an incentive that initially promoted local enjoyment by reclaiming spaces historically dedicated to cinema, and which this year, following the restrictions caused by the Covid emergency, has converted into the "cinema at your home" concept, also reducing distances.
3 meetings scheduled to be streamed live on the Facebook page of Camera Film (free access) with the authors of animated cinema in Campania, on the techniques and professions of the sector.
The program
It starts on Tuesday 16 March (21.15:3 pm) with an overview of the plurality of roles and technical skills that accompany the production of XNUMXD animated films, from the beginning of “The Art of Happiness” to the more recent “The Walking Liberty”. The speakers will be: Marino Guarnieri, designer, animator, director and president of ASIFA Italia (Association Internationale du Film d'Animation); Corrado Piscitelli, digital-figurative arts professional and technical director of Gatta Cenerentola, together with Francesco Filippini (screenwriter, director and art director), Nicoletta Silvestri (set designer and animator), Roberta Iannarone (assistant director and animator), of the Mad Entertainment team and creators of the short Simposio suino in Re minore.
The second appointment, Thursday 18 March (21.15:5 pm) is with Antonio Genovese, Giacomo Sorrentino, Angelo Grimaldi, Leonardo Avagnano and Alessandro Bottone of Turtle Studio. The XNUMX protagonists of the Neapolitan team born in the Academy of Fine Arts, will illustrate the fundamental steps of the complex production of stop motion films, showing us in detail the design and creation of settings and puppets for step one.
On Sunday 21 March (17.30:XNUMX pm) in the last appointment Emiliano Fasano, secretary of ASIFA Italia and creator of Aperitoon – an event dedicated to those who frequent the small magical world of animated cinema – will talk with the graphic designer Licio Esposito. The author and producer from Salerno will introduce us to sand art (animation with sand) and the reuse of traditional techniques for the graphic and digital processing of commercials, short films, documentaries.
In addition to the streaming meetings aimed at the public, Animation Camera Week also includes an educational activity for teachers and students. Training for Cinema and Audiovisuals in Schools with 5 meetings aimed at teachers on the history of cinema, the production and use of audiovisual resources in the educational field held by Claudio Correale of Lux in fabula, ACD Produzioni and the teacher Teresa La Montagna. The stop motion workshop for students of the graphics course at Isis Europa in Pomigliano d'Arco, four streaming meetings on the main techniques of animated cinema held by Alessandro Bottone and Angelo Grimaldi.
In April, instead, for the students of the partner primary schools – IC Ponte-Siciliano of Pomigliano d'Arco, Dante Alighieri of Brusciano, Madre Teresa di Calcutta of Casalnuovo – there will be a screening of the film on the history of moving images, from pre-cinema to the invention of the Lumière brothers, produced by Camera Film, directed by Mariangela and Michelangelo Fornaro, with the actor Gianfranco Renza.
