Appeal to the Campania Region for the survival of circus realities. Entrepreneur Eusanio Martino: "We ask for a meeting for compensation and restart"
Circus realities in Campania exist, there are about ten of them, in this moment of stoppage of activity due to the Coronavirus emergency, they are at risk of survival. The circus entrepreneur Eusanio Martino launches his appeal to the Campania institutions: "We ask for a meeting with the leaders of the Campania Region for support and assistance in the practice of compensation, facilitations for a future restart, as well as the protection of our , which has ancient roots in the South”.
The circus sector, like other entrepreneurial activities, has been in a stand-by situation for over a year, expenses are looming and resources are at the limit. At present, Eusanio Martino's Circo Martin is located in Cagliari, it has been stopped for 12 months due to the pandemic that blocked the tour in Sardinia, but its registered office is in Naples.
“A roundtable discussion with the competent regional authorities is needed – adds Martino – to jointly address the critical situation of the Coronavirus emergency”.
Circus culture is passed down from generation to generation, Eusanio Martino, owner of Circo Martin, fourth generation, is a young entrepreneur who has inherited not only the business but the history of his family, which dates back to the beginning of the 800th century, started with the theater, and then continued with the traveling circus show in the post-war period to today.
A path in the itinerant live entertainment sector, that of Martino who has matured numerous national and international productions (Malta, Slovenia, Africa) such as: "Martin On Ice", "Circus de Brasil", "Circo di Mosca", "Oblio Horror Circus", "Circo dei Matti", "Circo Darix Togni". Furthermore, the circus entrepreneur has collaborated with: Livio Togni, Flavio Togni, Paolo Orfei, Mario Bellucci, NiKy Scott.
“Thanks to the cultural and artistic exchange of circus personalities, the art of travelling entertainment is always evolving, maintaining the tradition that is passed on to new generations, therefore – concludes Martino – the circus will always be the art that will live over time”.
