A video is circulating on social media of an assault on the Ospedale del Mare by some people who railed against the security guards and doctors and kicked doors and walls to avenge the death of a family member, who they say died due to poor assistance.

“We will not go into the merits of the matter on which we have asked the management for clarifications to understand the reasons for the death but we find it absurd that people attack a hospital, moreover filming themselves and violently attacking the structure and the staff.
We sent a note to the hospital management to ask for further information on the incident and whether the people involved in the attack have been identified and reported. We understand the pain of losing a loved one but violence is never justified, especially in a public place, even more so if it is a hospital facility that serves citizens and is used to treat patients and fight the pandemic. If someone has made a mistake, they will be held accountable in court but carrying out punitive raids on hospitals is unacceptable” – commented the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli to whom the video was sent.
