Call for a scholarship from the Center for Studies on Southern Neapolitan and European Theater
The call for applications for the sixth edition of the "Paola D'Ambrosio" Award, named in memory of Paola D'Ambrosio, a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for the Study of Neapolitan, Southern and European Theatre (Centro Studi sul Teatro Napoletano, Meridionale ed Europeo), chaired by Professor Antonia Lezza, and a constant source of support for the association's cultural and educational activities, is now open.
The call finances 1 scholarship of 500 euros, aimed at the preparation of 8 biographies of 900th century Neapolitan actors, of which it will be necessary, through adequate research, to build an original profile. 50% of the fee will be paid to the winner after the verification and approval, by the judging commission, of the first part of the work (four biographies). The subsequent sum will be paid upon completion of the work (another four biographies). The works will be published online on the website www.centrostuditeatro.it and possibly in relevant magazines and spaces. The call is intended for graduates in humanities aged between 25 and 40. The application to participate in the selection, written on plain paper, must be sent by email, starting from 18 April 2021, no later than 02/05/2021 at 23.00 pm to the Association's email address: info@centrostuditeatro.it
In the application, addressed to the President of the Association, the candidate must indicate:
1) Name and Surname;
2) Place and date of birth;
3) Place of residence and postcode;
4) Email address and telephone number;
5) Tax code;
6) Degree or degrees obtained;
7) Consent to the processing of personal data provided for the sole purposes of the selection procedure.
The candidate will attach to the application:
1) a cover letter;
2) a signed CV;
3) scan of any qualifications and certificates;
4) a scan of an identity document.
Applications sent after the deadline, or incomplete, unsigned or without the requested CV and cover letter attached, will be excluded.

Assessment
The candidates will be evaluated by a Commission already designated by the Members' Assembly, composed of the President and two members, chosen from among theater scholars and/or exponents of theater criticism. The Commission will evaluate the applications submitted based on the curriculum, qualifications and cover letter. At the end of the work, the Commission will award, at its sole discretion, the "Paola D'Ambrosio" Prize to the most deserving candidate. In the event of a waiver by the winning candidate, the Prize will be awarded to the next candidate in the ranking.
Winner's Obligations
The winner will have to base his/her construction work on research (unpublished materials, reports, essays and more) and create completely original works, respecting the rules of relevance, contextualization and depth typical of essay writing.
