Red Light Cemetery 11 Arrests: Parties Organized in the Caretaker's House with Prostitutes
Eleven arrests and fifteen suspects. These are the numbers of an operation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of LatinaThe arrests arise from an investigation by the prosecutor's office called "Omnia 2" for crimes, in various capacities, against public administration, piety for the dead and against the person.
There would be a round of parties at Red lights and prostitution in a house inside the municipal cemetery of Sezze, in the province of Latina, behind the operation “Omnia 2”.
The investigation was triggered following another investigation into child prostitution, again inside the same home in the Setino cemetery and involving the caretaker. The investigation that has overwhelmed the Lepino municipality of Sezze promises disconcerting developments after the work of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Latina around a story that arose in 2019 following an investigation into child prostitution and drugs and which has led investigators today to contest, in various capacities, crimes ranging from corruption for acts contrary to official duties, in complicity and continued, undue inducement to give or promise benefits, destruction, suppression or removal of a corpse in complicity and continued, continued embezzlement, attempted threat or violence in complicity to force someone to commit a crime, execution of work in the absence of a residence permit and in violation of the mortuary police regulations.
The investigations, which began in February 2019, were developed through wiretaps, environmental and audio-video as well as the analysis, by the investigators, of documentary material that allowed them to bring to light - as stated in a press release from the Prosecutor's Office after the arrests carried out this morning by the Carabinieri - "the payment of money obtained by the caretaker of the cemetery of Sezze, who induced private individuals to pay sums of money to ensure a burial for their loved ones, making use for this purpose of the decisive contribution of an official of the same Municipality, responsible for issuing the expected determination of assignment of the niches or tombs, once the burial had already been carried out; the payment of large sums of money by companies interested in obtaining from the caretaker the construction and decoration works of the tombs already due to a company in which the Municipality has a stake; the transfer of the bodies that were mixed with the remains of other tombs, arranged by the caretaker to allow the construction of new tombs to be given to the citizens of Sezze; the resale of the flowers used, the day before for other funeral ceremonies, and of the wood brought to the cemetery by the caretaker and his son; the threats against those who had expressed the desire to renovate their family tomb through external construction companies; the responsibilities of three of the suspects who, in February 2018, had forced a worker from Sezze to withdraw a complaint filed against the cemetery caretaker”.
The investigations began with a previous inquiry by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, which involved the same caretaker, currently retired, being investigated for a child prostitution ring with meetings also in the house assigned to him inside the municipal cemetery where an area with a swimming pool had even been set up.
