Rome. Sumptuous villas, commercial activities and a millionaire's patrimony: a confiscation decree has been executed against Salvatore Nicitra and three alleged associates.

The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rome, this morning, are executing a decree, issued by the Specialized Section for Preventive Measures of the Civil and Criminal Court of Rome, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rome - District Anti-Mafia Directorate, which orders the confiscation of assets, movable and immovable, for a value of approximately 13 million euros, against Salvatore Nicitra, one of the bosses of the Magliana gang, Rosario Zarbo, Francesco and Rosario Inguanta (father and son). The same decree orders for Nicitra and his associates the personal preventive measure of special surveillance of Public Security with the obligation to reside for three years in the Municipality of residence.

The preventive measures put in place are a consequence of the “Jackpot” investigation, which the same police of the Investigative Unit of Rome concluded in February 2020, with the execution of a precautionary custody order against 38 people, believed to belong, in various capacities, to a criminal association, headed by Nicitra who, over the years, has monopolized the area north of the capital, taking control, with mafia-like methods, of the sector of distribution and management of gambling equipment (slot machines, video lotteries, online games and bets), imposed with an exclusive nature on commercial activities in Rome and the province. The assets, now subject to confiscation, are part of the same ones that the Carabinieri had seized at the same time as the arrests of the suspects, by order of the same Court.
