The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples has also strengthened this weekend, close to the return of Campania to the "red zone", the control system on anti-covid containment measures.
In total, between Friday and Sunday, 1391 people and 175 commercial activities were checked between the capital and the province, 159 total fines. The increase in checks, as usual, mainly concerned the city of Naples, following the decisions of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, in particular the Lungomare, via Partenope, via Chiatamone, via Toledo, piazza Rodinò, via Chiaia, the Decumani, the Vomero.
More specifically, the device composed of the Pronto Impiego Group and the I Group, integrated by reinforcements from the Torre Annunziata Company, between the San Ferdinando, Piazza Carlo III, Piazza del Gesù and Piazza Bellini districts, fined dozens of people caught on the street without a valid reason and seized, during the checks, also thanks to the help of drug-sniffing dogs, hashish and marijuana from 3 responsible persons.
Outside the port area, the II Group surprised over the weekend in the middle of the night, in violation of the curfew, more than 40 people from the cities of the province; furthermore, the same Department, following the report of some passers-by, managed to save and transport to hospital a man at sea in difficulty in the waters of Molosiglio.
SANCTIONS AND CLOSURES IN THE PROVINCE
Other anti-Covid sanctions also in the province, in Portici, Pomigliano d'Arco, Caivano, Afragola and Quarto, where the Fiamme Gialle have fined dozens of individuals without masks, caught outside their municipality of residence or found on the street during the curfew.
In San Gennaro Vesuviano the Ottaviano Company fined the owner of a sports centre and the participants in a five-a-side football match, while the Frattamaggiore Group and the Casalnuovo Company fined, respectively in Caivano and San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, the managers and customers of two gyms that were open to the public despite the bans.
Furthermore, as often happens, the anti-Covid checks also revealed illicit situations typically of interest to the Fiamme Gialle: in the capital, a patrol of the “Baschi Verdi” on public utility service “117”, together with the canine unit of the same Pronto Impiego Group, found 27 caliber 22 cartridges in the Fuorigrotta district (Rione Traiano), in the passenger compartment of a car abandoned in a courtyard.
BETTING AGENCY CLOSED IN SECONDIGLIANO
The I Group, in collaboration with the officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, ascertained the commission of the crime of intermediation in the field of sports betting at a bar in the Secondigliano district. Two telematic devices illegally connected to the network were seized, as well as approximately 2 gaming receipts certifying the betting activity. Individuals were also stopped while placing bets and paying for the stake. The owner of the business, a 80-year-old from Naples, was reported for illegal operation and illicit organization of public sports betting.
In Licola, the Pozzuoli Company arrested a 27-year-old originally from Aversa who had hidden in the cavity of a wall a small bag containing marijuana, hashish and cocaine already packaged in cellophane bags, aluminum foil and plastic ovules, for a total of approximately 50 grams, while in Caivano, the Frattamaggiore Group seized several grams of cocaine from 2 young people.
