Checks in Torre Annunziata and surroundings: arrests, reports and anti-covid sanctions
I police of the Company of Torre Annunziata, supported by the military of the Sarno Dog Unit, carried out a “High Impact” territorial control service focused on Torre Annunziata and the surrounding municipalities.
Numerous checks were carried out in places with the highest concentration of people and the highest traffic.
A Boscoreale, a 54-year-old woman, already known to the police, was arrested pursuant to a sentence execution order issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Torre Annunziata, as she had been sentenced to 1 year of house arrest for an aggravated theft committed in Boscoreale in 2014.
In Torre Annunziata, following a road check, a 47-year-old man, already known to the police, was reported for refusing to submit to an alcohol test, despite the fact that it had immediately appeared evident to the police that he was in an altered state of mind and body while he was driving his car.
A St. Joseph Vesuvius, a 30-year-old, already under house arrest, was reported for violating the provisions imposed on him. The man, although forbidden, was entertaining himself in his home with two strangers to the cohabiting family nucleus.
A Pompei, a 24-year-old was reported after being tracked down in via Unità D'Italia in possession of a cash register containing 80 euros in cash. The boy had shortly before stolen it from a bar inside the La Cartiera shopping center, damaging the system connecting the cash register to the bar counter.
During the service, 82 people and 51 vehicles were checked. As part of the checks on compliance with the Highway Code, 25 fines were issued, with two cars and a moped seized and 4 driving licenses withdrawn. Failure to use seat belts and lack of insurance coverage were the most common violations found.
Finally, specific attention was also paid to verifying compliance with the current anti-Covid regulations, with 17 fines imposed on as many individuals checked outside their municipality of residence, without proven reasons of necessity, work or health.
