Carabinieri comb the Vesuvian area: arrests, reports and seizures.

The Carabinieri of the Torre Annunziata Company, together with those of the Campania Regiment, of the Sarno Dog Unit and of the Forestry Carabinieri Station of Roccarainola, have carried out a “High Impact” territorial control service focused on Poggiomarino and the surrounding municipalities on the orders of the Provincial Command of Naples.
Numerous checks were carried out in places with the highest concentration of people and the highest traffic.

A Torre Annunziata, a 25-year-old with no criminal record was arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing. The boy was hiding in his bathroom, 8 clip-on bags for a total of 20,8g of marijuana, various packaging materials, 1 precision scale and notes relating to previous drug dealing activity, which he tried in vain to get rid of, throwing them in the toilet, at the entrance of the military.

A St. Joseph Vesuvius, a 69-year-old was arrested for illegal possession of 600g explosives, as he was hiding 30 improvised home-made explosive devices in his home, of illicit origin and without labels. In the same municipality, a 63-year-old, already known to the police, was reported for receiving stolen goods and uncontrolled waste management, as the military found, in a property he owned, a significant number of dissected car parts, mechanical parts soaked in oil on bare ground and license plates that had been stolen in Portici last March.

A Terzigno, a 42-year-old, already known to the police, was reported following a roadside check for repeated driving with a revoked license. The man was driving his own car, which also did not have mandatory insurance coverage. In the same municipality, the Carabinieri also reported a 66-year-old with no criminal record, following a check at a body shop, for illegal disposal and uncontrolled storage of special waste and for unauthorized emissions into the atmosphere. The man had created a small illegal landfill on bare ground through the uncontrolled storage of special waste from his own business, in which he had also illegally built a non-compliant oven for painting cars.

A poggiomarino, the military also reported a 61-year-old and a 54-year-old, both already known to the police, caught on board a truck that was transporting, without authorization, special waste, some of which had already been illegally dumped in a suburb of the municipality.
During a series of reinforced checkpoints, 181 people and 102 vehicles were checked. 1 person was reported to the Prefect as a drug user, as he was caught in possession of 1 dose of hashish for personal use. As part of checks on compliance with the Highway Code, 16 fines were issued, with 2 vehicles seized for lack of insurance coverage. Failure to use seat belts, driving with a phone and lack of insurance coverage were the most frequently found violations.

Finally, specific attention was also paid to verifying compliance with current anti-Covid rules, with 16 fines imposed on as many individuals checked outside their municipality of residence, without proven reasons of necessity, work or health and a well-known pastry shop subjected to temporary closure, because it allowed, inside, the consumption of food and drinks by its customers.
