Covid, in Campania, gatherings for vaccines and requests for documents in municipalities
Not even the pandemic and the red zone in Campania they manage to spread common sense and so, despite the still high number of infections, they are allowed gatherings among people in some cases by the institutions themselves. What is paradoxical, above all, is that such gatherings form outside vaccination centers for the administration of doses to those over 80. Reports on this matter have arrived from Pozzuoli and Giugliano to the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli:
“Dear Borrelli, I wanted to report what is happening at the Santa Maria delle Grazie hospital in Pozzuoli where I went because they had called my father-in-law to get the Pfizer vaccine. Seeing these elderly people, including many disabled and cancer patients, waiting out there in the cold hurt my heart. They tell us not to gather, to respect the rules to avoid contagion, and then they allow this crowding of elderly and therefore fragile people?” The same thing is reported for the hospital in Giugliano.
However, the gatherings are not limited to vaccination centers, in fact the situation inside some municipal offices is certainly not better, as Mr. Gennaro tells Councilor Borrelli: “To get a residence certificate I was in line for 3 hours, among a multitude of people, at the Barra town hall and in the end I had to return the next day.”
"A surreal and paradoxical situation, all of this absolutely cannot be tolerated and allowed. We have sent notes to the hospital management and the municipality of Barra so that measures are taken and the organization is improved. There is a serious risk of harming citizens, especially the elderly, and of giving rise to new outbreaks and this must be absolutely avoided." - declared Councilor Borrelli.
