Covid, deaths in Italy soar to 502

Covid: 20.396 positive cases and 502 deaths were recorded in Italy today. The positivity rate drops to 5,5%.

There have been 20.396 new COVID-190 cases in Italy in the last 24 hours. This is up from yesterday's 15.267, but with approximately 500 more tests performed, 369.375. The positivity rate has dropped sharply from 8,53% to 5,5%. Deaths have risen sharply, to 502 (364 yesterday): the highest number since January 26th (541).

The total number of victims is 103.001. And the sharp increase in hospitalizations continues: there are 99 more intensive care units (yesterday +75), with 319 daily admissions, never so many since this data was communicated. In total, there are 3.256. Hospitalizations also increased by 760 units (yesterday +820), 26.098 in total. This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of Ministry of Health.

The Region with the most daily cases is Lombardy (+4.235), followed by Campania (+2.656), Emilia Romagna (+2.184), Piedmont (+2.074) and Veneto (+1.901). Total cases since the beginning of the epidemic rise to 3.258.770. Those recovered are 14.116 (yesterday 15.807), for a total of 2.619.654. The number of currently positive cases is increasing, 5.758 more (yesterday -909), 536.115 in total. Of these, 507.761 patients are in home isolation.
