Covid, Deputy Prosecutor of Naples, Luigi Frunzio, Dies at 62

The head of the DDA of the Naples Prosecutor's Office, Luigi Frunzio, was struck down by Covid at just 62 years old.

The magistrate died late this afternoon, in a clinic in Imola where he had been admitted after spending a long time in hospital in Naples.

Frunzio had been released from intensive care and had been transferred to a clinical center in Imola for three days. He was 62 years old and struck down by a respiratory crisis. Frunzio was deputy prosecutor in Naples and deputy of the investigating office directed by Giovanni Melillo. He was a great football fan and a Napoli supporter, in the 90s he also worked in sports justice and had a hobby of marathon running.

He fought with all his strength against Covid for almost two months. He leaves behind his wife, Simona, and his little girls. He had been transferred to the clinic a few days ago: there he should have started rehabilitation after being discharged following his recovery from the virus. He was running for the post of prosecutor in Naples North.
