Covid, D'Anna (Biologists): “Also involve the network of laboratories and accredited outpatient centers in the vaccination administration campaign”
“Also involve the network of analysis laboratories and public and private outpatient centers accredited with the National Health Service in the anti-Covid vaccine administration campaign”. This is the request addressed in a letter to Mario Draghi, to the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza and to the coordinator of the Technical Scientific Committee, Franco Locatelli, by the president of the National Order of Biologists, Senator Vincenzo D'Anna.
“The so-called Sostegni Decree – writes D'Anna – introduced the possibility, on an experimental basis, of allowing the administration of vaccines also by pharmacists, appropriately trained through specific courses organized by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità”.
Well, D'Anna continues: "in addition to this initiative, it would also be possible to take advantage of the widespread network of accredited public and private analysis laboratories, which, moreover, together with pharmacies, are the only territorial facilities that have never interrupted their activities due to the pandemic". Moreover, D'Anna argues further: the "ratio of the rule is, very clearly, to accelerate the campaign by expanding as much as possible the access points and the professional categories authorized to inoculate the serums".
Now, the representative of the biologists explains further, even "the accredited structures, within which, we recall, qualified Biologists and Doctors operate, are included in the Health Card system, which would greatly facilitate the information needs connected to the administration of vaccines".
Naturally, the president of the ONB points out, "depending on the citizen's medical history, some categories could be privileged over others, but the fact remains that it would be a contribution, offered by laboratories and outpatient centers, which, we believe, could prove to be very important". "For its part, in the perspective of the widest and most effective institutional collaboration, theNational Order of Biologists is available to take on any obligation deemed necessary to contribute to the success of the vaccination campaign” concludes D'Anna.
