The Italian Patent and Trademark Office of the General Directorate for the Protection of Industrial Property of the Ministry of Economic Development has issued the certificate of registration for a Trademark to De.Co. of Cetara.
Another step forward in the process that first saw the establishment of the Municipal Denomination, then the appointment of the commission—established last year to support typical local products—and the approval of the regulations.
The Commission
The commission, chaired by the mayor Fortunato Della Monica, who from the beginning has delegated Marco Marano (with responsibilities for the Environment, Urban Hygiene and Productive Activities of the municipality of Cetara) the task of carrying out the work of the body on his behalf, is made up of Professor Vincenzo Peretti (already on the scientific committee for the DOP for Colatura di Alici), the Cetara entrepreneurs Domenico Giordano, Roberto Di Crescenzo, Luigi Massimo and the journalist Claudia Bonasi. The image of the brand - stylized seas and mountains with the viceregal tower on the right, symbol of the coastal fishing village - also underlines its Mediterranean identity in its colors: the blue of the sea and the sky, the green of the hills and local products, the yellow of the lemons and the protection of the material and immaterial historical-cultural values of Cetara, represented by the monument that also houses, among other things, the Colatura di Alici museum. "We are very satisfied with this goal achieved" declared the biologist Marco Marano.
