The Campania Region crisis unit detects an “increase in contagion” which makes “the “red zone” in Campania now inevitable”.
The task force reports that in recent weeks there has been "a very strong increase in positives in Campania" connected "to the variants, especially the English one". The Campania Region Crisis Unit has decided to engage "in an extraordinary action the Tigem and the ASL Napoli1 to make the identification of the variants as timely and widespread as possible. This is an indispensable job in the face of a growth in contagion that now makes the "red zone" in Campania inevitable". It has also set itself "the goal of completing the vaccination of all school staff within a week".

Mass screening in the Campania municipalities where the contagion is higher. "In recent weeks, a very strong increase in positives has been recorded in Campania - reads a note from the Crisis Unit - this increase is connected to the variants, especially the English one. The Region has ordered the implementation of mass swabs in the municipalities where the greatest increases in positives have been recorded, in particular those in the Vesuvian area, including Castellammare, Pompei, Torre Annunziata".
