Teacher dies in Biella after vaccine: Piedmont suspends Astrazeneca

The Piedmont Region Crisis Unit has ordered the immediate suspension of the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine throughout the region following the death of a teacher in Biella.

The victim had been administered the AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday, pending the results of the tests to verify the possible causal link, as a precaution the commissioner of the Legal-Administrative Area of ​​theCrisis Unit of the Piedmont Region, Antonio Rinaudo, ordered the immediate suspension of the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine throughout the region for investigations into the batch involved. The Piedmont Commission on Pharmacovigilance was immediately convened to activate all the required procedures.

The Bologna Public Prosecutor's Office will open a case on the death of a teacher, Giuseppe Morabito, vice-principal of the 'Veggetti' middle school in Vergato, Bologna, who passed away last night about ten days after receiving a dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine. An investigation is underway to verify whether there is a correlation between the teacher's death and the administration of the remedy. Yesterday morning the turning point with some colleagues who decided to go and visit the 61-year-old, suspicious of the silence of his cell phone and doorbell.

Then the discovery of the man, dead in his bed, by the 118 health workers together with the Carabinieri of Vergato. "We will ascertain what the causes are - reiterates the prosecutor Amato - in the next few hours we will involve the NAS, but we do not spread terror. We will investigate, it is our job. We insist that vaccinations, if there are any, should be done, indeed they should be done to everyone. At the moment there is no concern in this sense".
