Ua broad, articulated project, the result of a “new vision”. Giffoni is thus preparing for the turning point of the 2021-2027 period.
"Giffoni has been a guarantor for generations for fifty years. Giffoni is born and reborn in change - comments Claudio Gubitosi, Founder and Director - we have never considered ourselves to have arrived, but we always throw our heart beyond the obstacle in the incessant attempt to anticipate the future. It is our duty to do so today more than ever. We have not resigned ourselves to this complicated present. Today, on the contrary, it is time for a new impetus that sees us committed to developing a thought that translates into actions.
The 2021 program is the result of a choral comparison and perfectly in line with what Giffoni wants to be in the coming years. This makes me proud because this is how you show you are worthy of your history”.
The program runs until December 30, 2021, the date that marks the end of the fiftieth anniversary celebrations. The upcoming edition is the 50Plus. These are the main events: in May from 7 to 9, the summit of 190 directors of Italian film festivals and reviews.
In July, from 18 to 21, the first Global Youth Tourism Summit (GYTS), UNWTO, a specialized agency of the United Nations that deals with the coordination of tourism policies and promotes the development of responsible and sustainable tourism, and Giffoni have decided to develop and implement a series of global and national events, which will provide children and young people with a unique platform to discuss, share innovative ideas, visions and their proposals on the future of sustainable tourism especially within the global framework of the Agenda 2030 and the 17 goals of sustainable development (SDGs).
From July 21st to 31st there will be the Festival, with the hope that this year it can be enjoyed in complete freedom, as is right. From September to December, Giffoni in Tour, 10 stages in Italy and 5 abroad.
Three new big projects starting in October. Two real festivals and a market-exhibition of ideas, all in their first edition. We start in October with “Giffoni Shock”, where shock is not synonymous with trauma but with freedom. “Giffoni, how many stories”, also in October, will be an anthology of lives that share values and give life to a human, social and cultural revolution. In November “Verde Giffoni” will be the point of arrival and departure.
The section dedicated to green themes, not simply environmentalists, but bearers of an ecology that must be applied to communication, culture, art and that becomes a social rule. Then the month of December, dedicated to the second edition of Giffoni Winter Edition, an event for the little ones and for families, a party that will close this 2021. The program includes many activities, some already carried out from January to today, and others distributed in the vast calendar of proposals.
