The director of the Health District 58, Dr. Salvatore Langella, this morning proceeded with the opening of the Pompei Vaccination HUB in Piazza Falcone e Borsellino.
The center is located a few hundred meters from the Pompei Est/Scafati toll booth on the Naples-Salerno motorway, so it is easily accessible by car and on foot, as it is not far from the former FFSS station and the former Circumvesuviana station of Pompei Santuario.
To be clear with all readers, the Vaccination HUB consists of a large prefabricated and removable structure, set up specifically for carrying out anti-Covid 19 vaccinations, thanks to agreements between the ASL3 and the Municipality of Pompeii, activated by Mayor Lo Sapio, still hospitalized for Covid and supported by the Campania Region.
Director Langella then released some statements to the press, congratulating the Municipality of Pompeii and the same ASL for the availability that they have granted him the "possibility of being able to activate the vaccination center which will see the active collaboration between the staff of the Municipality of Pompeii and the ASL3, District 58".

In fact, he specified that the vaccine doses will be "collected from the Castellammare Hospital where they reside in special refrigerators at -80 degrees centigrade".
A detachment of Pompeii's municipal police will escort the healthcare personnel who will go to collect the vaccines at the San Leonardo hospital pharmacy to transport them to Pompeii whenever the need arises.
However, the Pompeii vaccination center is equipped with -2°/-8° cold storage cells suitable for storing vaccines for five days. Therefore, there should be no vaccine availability crisis at the Pompeii center.
Going into even more detail, Dr. Langella specified that the “firepower” of the vaccinations carried out in Pompeii is around one hundred and fifty per day.
